Healing Properties of Tea
Teas derived from the camellia sinensis plant (the tea plant) are rich in flavonoids which are types of antioxidants. These remarkable antioxidants can help to protect the body from certain types of cancers, reduce the risk of stroke, improve heart health, strengthen bones and may aid in weight loss. Certain types of tea also contain antibacterial or antiviral properties, making them an excellent way to fight colds, flu, and other diseases.
Keep in mind that the health benefits you might receive as a tea drinker are dependent on the quality of tea you drink, as well as how processed that tea has been. Highly processed teas have less of the antioxidants prevalent in unprocessed or lightly processed teas.
At Boston Harbor, we create custom tea blends featuring medicinal herbs from across the globe. These blends are created on an individual basis to target and treat underlying conditions while relieving many symptoms associated with illness and/or inflammation.
